Driver of the Week: Willie Haupt (1908 Vanderbilt Cup Race)
Driver of the Week is William (Willie) H. Haupt, who drove the Chadwick "Big Six", the first supercharged racing car, to a 10th place finish in the 1908 Vanderbilt Cup Race.

William Luttgen participated in four Vanderbilt Cup Races, three as a driver (1904, 1906, and 1908) and one as a mechanician (1905). Today, I met with his grandson Robert Luttgen of Key Biscayne, Florida, who brought along a rare photo album of the 1908 Vanderbilt Cup Race.

Long Island Motor Parkway Bridge Series #39: Newbridge Road Bridge in Hempstead Plains
The 39th bridge in the series documenting the 60 bridges built by the Long Island Motor Parkway is the Newbridge Road Bridge in the Hempstead Plains (now Levittown).
